One More Rich In Hope
Graham Moore, who first appeared in the Tom Tompkins' series of novels, makes his first appearance here as the leader of a small team of detectives in a seaside town in the Northwest of England. Graham is damaged. His only daughter died tragically young and he became a hopeless alcoholic. Now sober and more in control of himself, he is persuaded to take on the leadership role of a small and dysfunctional department, where resentments of various kinds occasionally break the surface. He's under no illusions about the difficulties awaiting him and he's keenly aware that he's only been hired because they're getting desperate. Within days of his arrival, the body of a local woman is discovered and he has a major investigation on his hands. He needs to get his team in shape quickly and have them all pull together if the case is to be solved.
